Support Services Division Commander Captain Ron Johnson
Captain Ron Johnson began his law enforcement career in 1983
with the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department.
He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1988 and then
to the rank of Lieutenant in 1992.
He was later promoted to Captain and currently is the
Support Services Division Commander.
During the course of his career, Captain
Johnson has served the Sheriff’s Department in many capacities.
He was a Patrol Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, Field Training
Officer and Program Coordinator, Detective, and spent nearly ten
years with the Department’s Special Tactical Team.
As a Lieutenant, he supervised the Communications Unit,
Investigations Unit, Patrol Unit and served in both the Support
Services and Jail Divisions.
He served as Operations Division Commander for over eight
years and is on his second term in the Support Services
Division.
Captain Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute and
University and an Associate of Science Degree in Administration
of Justice. He is a
1999 graduate of the FBI National Academy.
He was named the Sheriff’s Department’s Officer of the
Year in 1990. He is
the recipient of the Sheriff’s Department’s Bronze Medal of
Merit and the California Peace Officer’s Association’s Award of
Merit. Captain
Johnson has also been an instructor with the Criminal Justice
Program at Yuba Community College.
