An Olivehurst man was arrested at his home Tuesday for suspicion of counterfeiting, Sheriff Steve Durfor said today.
While conducting a parole search at the home of Donald Dee Miller Sr., deputies located $3,400 in counterfeit one hundred dollar bills in his pocket. Deputies also found several bottles of dye, a bottle of bleach, a pair of tweezers, a computer scanner, and a disposable respirator mask. Investigators believe the items were used to forge the money found in Miller’s possession. Miller, age 60, denied any involvement in the manufacture of the bills.
Miller was arrested and booked into the Yuba County Jail on charges of forgery, possession of forged items, forging a public seal, and possession of counterfeiting equipment.
