Attempted Murder Investigation - Olivehurst Teen Shot
(Posted 9/12/2018)

On today’s date at approximately 8:00am, Yuba County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call of gunshots heard in the 4300 block of Martel Drive in Olivehurst. Upon deputies’ arrival at the scene, a 15-year-old boy was located with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm. The victim was transported by ambulance to a Sacramento area hospital for treatment of potentially life threatening injuries and was undergoing surgery. Witnesses described hearing multiple shots and seeing several teens flee the area on foot. Due to the proximity of the shooting location to nearby Lindhurst High School and Johnson Park Elementary School, Sheriff Department officials requested the school district lock down the campuses as a precaution. The schools were lifted from lockdown just before noon. One suspect, a 17-year-old boy from Olivehurst, is currently in custody at this time. The incident remains an active ongoing investigation.
