Gang Related Shooting Arrests

Yuba County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of shots fired in a residential area on Tulsa Avenue in Olivehurst on Sunday 2/25/18 at approximately 8:18pm. Upon arrival, deputies located multiple bullet casings in the roadway in the 4800 block of Tulsa Avenue, and a residence that had been struck by gunfire but with no injuries to persons. One of the responding deputies contacted a group of subjects walking away from the area; one of whom was found to be illegally carrying a handgun and was identified as Ricardo Hernandez age 20 of Olivehurst. Hernandez was detained for carrying a concealed firearm and after further investigation, arrested for 246PC/Shooting at an occupied residence, concealed weapons charges of 25400(c)(3)PC and 25400(c)(6)(b)PC; and 186.22(b)(1)PC Gang crime. Detectives responded and conducted further investigation that lead to the identification and arrest of a second suspect on Monday 2/26/18; identified as 24-year-old Ruben Agustine Blajos of Olivehurst. Blajos was booked into Yuba County Jail for charges of 246PC/Shooting at an occupied residence, 30305(a)(1)PC/Possession of Ammunition by a prohibited person, and 186.22(b)(1)PC Gang crime. Both suspects were identified as Sureno Gang members and are currently held in Yuba County Jail with bails of $250,000 each. The investigation remains ongoing into the possible identification of additional suspects.
