Mobile BHO Lab Vehicle Fire Investigation
(Posted 2/23/2018)

Yuba County Detectives have arrested 27-year-old Nicholas Turk, a transient man from Olivehurst, for 11379.6 (a) H&S (manufacturing a controlled substance), and 452 (a) PC (arson with great bodily injury) following an investigation into a vehicle fire that left the suspect and a 28-year-old Olivehurst woman with burn injuries yesterday afternoon. On 2-22-18 at 1514 hrs. deputies responded to the 4400 block of Martel Way in Olivehurst for a vehicle fire. When deputies arrived they located a burnt van parked in the driveway. Outside of the van, deputies located Turk and the woman; both with serious burns. Upon inspecting the van, deputies noticed items indicative of a Butane Honey Oil production lab. NET5 was notified and responded for the BHO lab, confirming the deputies’ findings. The extent of the female victim’s injuries from the vehicle BHO lab explosion required her to be flown to a Sacramento area hospital for treatment of potentially life threatening injuries. Her condition was reported as stable this morning. The suspect, Turk, was treated and released at a local hospital before being booked into the Yuba County Jail this morning with a $500,000 bail.
