Attempted Homicide Arrest
(Posted 1/25/2018)

On Wednesday 1/24/2018 at approximately 4:45pm, Yuba County Sheriff received a 911 call of a shooting that had occurred in the 5900 block of Lowe Avenue in Linda with an injured victim being driven to Rideout Hospital. The caller advised he was the victim of the shooting and believed he had been hit by a bullet that penetrated his vehicle while he was parked on Lowe Avenue. He advised dispatchers that he was driving himself to the hospital when he crashed his vehicle and was picked up by a passing motorist who was taking him to the emergency room. Just prior to the call from the victim, Sheriff Dispatch received a 911 call about a solo vehicle accident in the 1100 block of N. Beale Rd. It was later determined to be the same vehicle the shooting victim had been driving and reportedly crashed en route to the hospital. California Highway Patrol responded for the vehicle accident. The victim, a 24 year old Oroville man, suffered a superficial grazing wound and was treated and released. Detectives assumed the investigation and learned that the victim had been in a verbal altercation with another man who is known to the victim, when the man fired one round from a revolver at the victim’s vehicle. Just before 6pm, Detectives located and arrested the suspect in the 800 block of E St in Marysville. The suspect was identified as 21 year old James Elijah Myles of Marysville. He was booked into Yuba County Jail for 664/187PC – Attempted Murder, 25400(a)PC Concealed Firearm, 29800(a)PC Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and 30305(a)(1)PC Felon in Possession of Ammunition.
