Press Release Story

Attempted Larceny from Vehicle Arrests
(Posted 12/11/2017)

Two suspects were arrested this morning after a Yuba County Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle and activity in a Park and Ride lot on Chalice Creek in Plumas Lake at approximately 9:40am. The deputy spotted a man looking into vehicles and a suspicious car at the scene. When she approached the suspicious vehicle, a maroon Ford Mustang occupied by the first suspect, a second man ran from the area. Additional deputies arrived and a search of the area was conducted, and the second suspect was located hiding in the back of a truck parked in the lot. The suspects’ vehicle contained numerous burglary tools including angle grinders, chisels and shaved keys. Additional tools were located under another vehicle near the catalytic converter, in the area the second suspect had ran from. Catalytic Converters are a popular part targeted for theft due to their precious metal content and are sold to recyclers. YCSO has taken several reports of such thefts in the recent weeks in Plumas Lake, Olivehurst and Linda. Probation searches of the suspects’ residences were conducted by Deputies, but no catalytic converters or additional stolen property was located. The suspects were identified as John Her age 35 and Bee Her age 35 of Marysville. Both suspects are on probation and Bee Her had active warrants for Burglary and Auto Theft. They are pending booking into Yuba County Jail for 182PC/Criminal Conspiracy, 664/487PC Attempted Grand Theft, 466PC/Possession of Burglary Tools, and 11377 H&S/Possession of Methamphetamine.
