The man believed to be responsible for the armed robbery of the Linda Burger King last Friday night is in custody, according to Yuba County Sheriff Steven Durfor.
James Kidd, 22, of Linda is suspected of robbing the restaurant at gunpoint just after 9:30 p.m. on November 23rd. Kidd, a parolee, fled the area on foot. Through the crime scene investigation and multiple witness interviews, investigators identified Kidd as a suspect in the case.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department contacted the California State Parole Fugitive Apprehension Team for assistance in locating Kidd. Yesterday afternoon Kidd was spotted by a parole agent as he rode as a passenger in a vehicle. Officers from the Yuba City Police Department were requested to stop the vehicle. The vehicle stopped on El Margarita Road near Highway 20, but Kidd ran from the vehicle. He was apprehended a short distance away.
Kidd was booked into the Sutter County Jail on a parole violation. Other charges against Kidd are pending. The firearm has not been recovered.
